Empty Pot, Broken Pot, No pot

Without any self, the universe comes into being. Amid throngs of people, no self abides. No friends, no enemies, none higher, nor lower. A perfect evenness abides within the ever-flowing multitude that is the multitude. Without self, their is nothing to clutch at or be attached to, no room for self to abide. We can win no wars, nor lose them. Neither may we acquire any attainment, nor lose any. We can experience no change, because their is no I. Within the dream, the I may desire, it may gain, it may suffer. This is of no concern, nothing that arises is of any concern. All that arises within and as conditioned consciousness is unreal. There truly is no perspective, only the living dharma that is Buddha. There is no change of consciousness to be desired, Nirvana is Reality. Nirvana here, Nirvana there. An open door through which all is seen. We obtain peace not by overcoming our humanity, but by making peace with it. By embracing who we are and the reality of our condition we may be freed of it. Whether or not we are freed from it is of no concern because all that each and every human condition is, is Nirvana. Allowing our humanness to be is one way to perceive the ultimate truth of Nirvana. Our limited condition is a broken pot, which cannot be mended unless we can bear to face the full depth of our limitations, the scar that is our mortal existence. We must humble ourselves to our brokenness and of the power that the Universe has over us. The power of our karma to destroy us again and again. We are weak and fragile things in a weak and fragile world. If we cannot acknowledge who we truly are, then we cannot discover how it is that we arrived in our current position. We can't begin to unravel the mystery of our present condition and of our existence. We must cultivate the courage and the perceptivity to see who we are so that we may learn why we are this way. By examining why we are this way, we began to understand how we are formed by the Universe, and how the universe itself operates. Seeing this we develop wisdom and may see that which we are sure will not bring us peace. If we have doubt, there is room to do that which is unwise. This is why we must see very clearly who we are and why we are the way we are. This will give us the power to overcome our present circumstances. Seeing fragility everywhere and recognizing fragility in everything is key to seeing within to the unbroken inner core of ourselves and the Universe. The outer world will always be broken, the inner world will always be unbroken. By recognizing fragility and overcoming the terror of our fragile position, we can turn inwards to the root of our being and the selfless strength of the Universe. This is the only way to overcome our fragility. Not through might, but with boundless compassion and selfless strength. Fear will always blind us, it is through love that we are freed from the oppressive might of delusion. It is by compassion that we reach out to God, the indwelling Christ, and ultimately the transcendent Buddha. In doing so we give up our life, our fragility, for the sake of all life within the universe. We take on the Universal burden, the Universal karma of all living beings in order to liberate all living beings from suffering, for we are truly all of these beings, as life in the Universe is One. Our true life is much greater than we imagine. Our life and our body extends throughout space and time, encompassing many galaxies, and many Universes. To fulfill our own life does not mean to save ourself. It begins with saving ourself and ends with saving the entire universe. For we are the One life of all living beings. To reach ourself, we must extend our compassion throughout the Cosmos. All this life lives within us and is an expression of our own heart. By extending our compassion to all beings, we release the life within us that wishes to be born and expressed. We give the life and the power to all beings that they do not have. Within us, they are freed, even if they do not realize it. Within us the whole Universe turns into a land of Buddhas. We cannot hold back from anything, because we are everything. Our heart calls us to become the Buddha and to give ourself to the Universe. Only by doing this do we have peace.  The flower of our fragility gives birth to the awakened nature of the Universe. By embracing our weaknesses with love and acceptance we may rise above them into the Buddhahood that is the natural state of all things and an attainment that we already possess.
