Drunken Pottery II

Garbage lines the roadway, countries struggle, humans suffer. Abuse is rife. Families count dollars and many people who are in positions of leadership are not seriously interested in the well-being of others. A great compassion exists among everyone yet, we are so often obstructed by our beliefs that we fail to utilize it's potential. We cannot succeed in living in harmony if we are more concerned for ourselves than we are for each other. Neither can we succeed if we do not understand who we really are. When we cling to our beliefs we are unable to see things as they are. When we cling to what we have and what we desire, it makes it impossible to do the right thing. What is more powerful? Our selfish interests, or the common good of all human beings and all life on Earth? What is more important? Our individual wellbeing, or the wellbeing of the web of life that sustains life on our planet? The choices we make determine our reality. Each choice has a direct affect on what happens to the world we live in. Everything ultimately comes back to us. Even if it does not affect us now, tomorrow or in the next 10 years, our choices will affect the livelihood of our children and future descendants. We have the opportunity to become sickeningly self-indulgent in our society. We can take the same resources  and turn our attention to serving the best interest of all human beings. If we do not, we are on a course to destroy ourselves. Those who are most privileged have the greatest ability to affect change. We can use our power, while we have it, to intensify the awakening of soulful living and a soulful society. The direction of this movement ultimately comes from God, or enlightened consciousness, which is the true ruler within each one of us and in society as a whole. The deeper we travel along this path, the clearer this will become and the clearer it will also be that all human beings are One Human family with One common destiny. Awakened presence exists throughout the world and in each moment. It is always with us for it is who we really are. When we turn to serve each other, we are turning to this, we are awakening to it as it awakens within us. This is the answer we are looking for. It is always here, right now.
